Chinese Cabinets

Many of the Chinese antique cabinets we have in stock at Zitan were originally wedding cabinets and would have come filled with all the silks and brocades for the newly weds, just as we traditionally have a “bottom drawer” for a bride.

Chinese cabinets are many and varied. There are some that have no carving at all and the main feature is the beauty of the wood, often using many different colours in one piece. Others show fantastic carving that is a joy to behold. Alternatively we have a lovely stock of beautiful lacquered cabinets and painted cabinets.The artistry with which they are produced is breathtaking. The cabinet construction is of the finest quality.
These classic Chinese cabinets make a stunning statement in any room and co-ordinate with almost any style and design. They can be used in their original way for storage or a modern slant can be to store TV and DVD cabinets, or be adapeted as drinks cabinets.

Several of the cabinets in stock have a privacy panel at the back which can be removed, allowing all the wires and cables from TVs to go down the back.
