Chinese Tables
Traditionally dining tables in China were round, so that no one could be deemed to be at the head of the table. This ensured that no guest could be offended and “lose face”, which is such an important concept for the Chinese.
At Zitan, we have antique Chinese tables of all sizes and shapes in stock. Some are small, others have come from temples. Classic Chinese tables were certain sizes and shapes for different uses, Tea tables and wine tables being quite different. Others have been created from old window panels.
