Pair of door carvings from an external door with figures

Antique Chinese door carvings from the top of a very large door. They would probably have been used outside a temple or ancestral hall.They held the door in place. These carvings are exquisitely worked and then treated with gold and  red cinnabar lacquer. 
This carving shows dragons. They are a pair and made in the mid 19th century and are mounted on a modern stand to display them at their best. They come from Southern China.
