Old Chinese scoop

A wooden antique Chinese rice scoop used in a rice or grain store. This one comes from Northern China and is made from Chinese Elm. It dates from the mid to late 19th Century. Shows signs of early repair, consistent with its age and usage. Wonderful for holding pot-pourri or the safe place to keep the keys, mail etc.
