Green moon disc wedding cabinet

A delightful green wedding Chinese cabinet from Ningbo. It dates from the mid to late 19th Century. The simple styling is beautifully proportioned. The moon disc feature and handles are brass. Inside the main compartment is one adjustable shelf and all the surfaces are lined with pages from old books, with Chinese characters.The two small drawers have brass handles. It is made from Chinese elm. It has a privacy panel at the book which can be removed. A good modern day use is for a TV and DVD player, the wiring all goes down the back and is unseen, with space in the drawers for the discs. The doors have been adapted so that they slide into the body of the cabinet, ensuring that the view for the TV is unrestricted. The integrity of the original doors of the cabinet has not been compromised.
